If I read the best 100 non-fiction books ever written in the next 2 years, how will it impact my life?
It is an honest question who is tightening their shoes to have a reading marathon . However, the most common tips you can get on the benefits of reading will have the following keywords :
- change in perspective
- expertise in subject
- logical points for arguments - haha ! this is true
Most of my reading has been around the Non-Fictuion genre which is now nearing five years. So I think, my opinion will get some weightage.
Here is what going to happen with your life when you begin reading these books.

Let's explore the bright side of reading non-fictional books:
• On the intellectual aspect, you'll benefit from other person views and get exposure.
• You will get to know special theories and perspectives.
• You will get an opportunity to experience someone's lifelong work in four-five hundred odd pages.

Now let's do the math for this ambitious plan - "100 books in two years"
Completing a hundred books in 24 months requires studying 1 book a week. Quite a challenging venture as non-fiction has the following drawbacks:• They are boring by miles
• Monotonous tone.
• Content repetition (mostly).
• Information bombardment. ( tough to digest in one sitting)
Belive me, these are big struggles for nonfictional readers.
If you are up for the mission, here is what going to happen to you.
Assuming you understand the lifecycle in this plan, you will be dedicating 2-3 hours every day.
• You will be missing your social hangouts.
• Missing everyday responsibilities with higher priorities( assuming reading will be your prime undertaking)
• Fatigue.
• On one facet, you may gain perspective and exposure. However, the reality is that you will retain only 30% – 40% at max. Additionally, you will forget as soon as you pick up a new book.
Ask yourself why you want to do this in the first place.
"Reading should be fun rather than mission"
There is not going to be any impact according to me. This is because implementing what one has read creates an impact, just reading about something is useless until it is put to use.
