About the Book
The 36 stratagem is a Chinese guide to understand philosophy of strategy. It
illustrates a series of tactics in administration, battles and many times in
day-to-day challenges. The book 36 stratagem encourages winning, even though it
may sound unorthodox or immoral. The history of 36 stratagems can be discovered
around three centuries ago between the fall of Ming dynasty and the rise of
Qing dynasty. The 36 stratagems came into public attention when in 1961 Chinese

popularity.
Thing that can be highlighted in the Chinese practice of strategy is the use of deception. Be it Art of war or 100 years marathon, deception is a usual practice followed across generations in Chinese culture and even in their household board games.
