Summary of Think and grow rich

The book is not written to entertain, it is a textbook on individual achievement that came directly from the experience of hundreds of America's successful men. It shows us how to think ourselves rich, how to control our minds and our thoughts so that we can become rich

It discusses thirteen success principles that are significant in acquiring wealth

These principles will uplift one's professional and career life bringing success and achievement. In every chapter of this book, mention has been made of the money-making secret which has made fortunes for hundreds of exceedingly wealthy men whom the writer has analyzed over a long period of years. This book contains the secret after have been put to a practical test by a thousand people from almost every walks of life.

Following are the thirteen steps discussed in the book to become rich

  1. DESIRE

  • What you will give in return.
  • Time limit.
  • Plan to achieve the goal.(can be modified in future)
  • Write down on paper.
  • Read and visualize daily.
The book directed towards understanding who you are, how to discover your strengths, and play along with it, what value you can deliver to the world. The author projected money as an outcome of the quality of efforts. It can be discovered, improved, directed in a way to gain most out of it.

Review of Think and Grow Rich

How can a book published in 1937 on becoming rich be relevant today? A pretty obvious question, correct? I will just say the principle of flying an aircraft hasn't changed from the first flight of the Wright Brothers to today's most advanced jets.

As you have gone through the above thirteen steps, you will not discover anything naive. Because every now and then we come across these types of words in form of motivational videos or listening to any successful person interview like Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos.  So is it worth my time? Will I find anything new?

These questions were coming to me as well. Then I research the author. That's why I included it in my article along with a snap of a few people which he interviewed in a span of twenty years.

Now if I narrow it down to binary terms: The principles used by successful people in the era of Napolean hill are the same as today!. Meaning, at the root level nothing has changed. There is still a requirement of persistence, valuing the subconscious mind, and other steps discussed in the book.

If Intelligent Investor is the bible of Investing then Think and grow rich is the bible of self-help books. From my experience, I am saying,

"If you get a chance to read a person's work who was a pioneer in his field then pick it up without having a second thought."
